CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE 1 – NAME
This Association shall be known as the "7/1 ACS Blackhawk Association".
It is an organization for all past, present and future members of the
7/1 ACS and members of units historically attached to the 7/1 ACS.
ARTICLE II - OBJECTIVES
The 7/1 ACS Blackhawk Association is dedicated to: the following objectives:
- To renew and preserve the camaraderie and esprit de corps among members
of the 7/1 ACS Blackhawk Association.
- To locate all current and former members of the 7/1 ACS and attached
units.
- To-encourage all current and former members of the 7/1 ACS and attached
units to become affiliated with the Association.
- To gather data and material of an historical nature to compile an
accurate and detailed history of the 7/1 ACS.
ARTICLE III-OPERATION
The 7/1 ACS Blackhawk Association will operate as a not for profit organization.
ARTICLE IV-REUNIONS
- Reunions will be held every other year.
- Reunions will be held at a time and place determined by the Executive
Council.
ARTICLE V – MEMBERSHIP
- Membership is open to all past, present and future members of the
7/1 ACS and members of units historically attached to the 7/1.ACS to
surviving family members of KTA/Deceased personnel; and to certain
other persons/organizations described below under the Associate classification.
- Membership classifications are General, Active, Honorary, Associate
and Life and are described as follows:
- Any former, present or future member of the 7/1 ACS and members
historically attached to the 7/1 ACS automatically become General
members by virtue of that assignment
- Active membership will be conferred upon an individual eligible
for membership who pays a specific amount of dues annually, as
directed and approved by the Executive Council. Only Active members
are eligible to vote and to hold office.
- A lifetime honorary membership will be bestowed upon the surviving
spouse, parent, or children of KIA or Deceased members. Other
Honorary membership may be awarded to other distinguished persons
and must be voted upon by the Executive Council. Honorary members
do not pay dues, but enjoy all benefits of the Association except
the right to vote and hold office.
- Associate membership will be made available to " a person or
organization not actually assigned to the 7/1 ACS, but having
a deep and lasting association and/or interest in the unit",
and who pays a specific amount of dues annually, as directed
and approved by the Executive Council. Due paying Associate members
enjoy all benefits of the Association except the right to vote
and hold office.
- Life membership will be made available to an individual eligible
for memberships who pay a one-time Life Membership fee established
by the Executive Council.
ARTICLE VI ORGANIZATION
- Officers of the 7/1 ACS Blackhawk Association will be as follows:
- National Director
- Deputy National Director
- Two (2) Members at Large
- Secretary
- Treasure
- The Executive Council shall consist of:
- National Director
- Deputy National Director
- Two (2) Members at Large
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Holding office or other positions of influence and trust is limited
to eligible members as defined in this Constitution.
- Responsibility and authority of the Executive Council:
- The Executive Council shall be the governing body of the 7/1
ACS Blackhawk Association. It shall be responsible for management
of the affairs of the Association including funds, programs and
regulations. It shall have authority to approve budgets, authorize
expenditures and approve meeting sites and program managements.
- A majority of the Executive Council shall prevail in all matters
pertaining to the Association.
- In addition to business conducted at the Reunion, unusual and
pressing business may be conducted by the Executive Council by
mail or by conference calling.
- The Executive Council may designate authority and functions
to specific members of the Association.
- The Executive Council shall perform such other duties as prescribed
by the Constitution and Bylaws.
- Committees:
- The 7/1 ACS Blackhawk Association will have the following standing
committees, with duties and responsibilities as outlined in job
descriptions approved by the Executive Council.

d. Reunion
ARTICLE VII VOTING
T he Constitution and Bylaws may be amended by the
following procedure:
- Proposed amendments will be submitted in writing to an Association
officer no later than the first day of the reunion or special session.
- The adoption of the Amendment(s) at the business meeting of the 7/1
ACS Blackhawk Association will be by two-thirds majority of the members
voting and present at the business session.
